MACBOOK JUNKIE’S TRACKING SPEED: FAST
The Trackpad Tracking Speed setting allows you to set the speed at which the cursor travels across your screen when you move your finger along the trackpad. The slower the tracking speed, the further along the trackpad surface you will have to move your finger in order to move the cursor across the screen. If it’s set really slow, it might even require multiple swipes before the cursor can move completely across the screen.
TO DETERMINE YOUR IDEAL TRACKING SPEED:
1. Open the Trackpad Preferences Pane
2. Move the Tracking Speed slider all the way over to the right so that it is set at the fastest speed.

3. Leave the Trackpad Preferences pane open and use your trackpad to move your cursor around your screen.
4. If you are able to control the mouse and are happy with it’s speed, you don’t need to adjust your tracking speed. You can move on and set your Double-Click Speed or any of the other settings listed at the end of this article.
However, if the mouse is moving too fast for you, move the Tracking Speed slider one notch to the left and try out the cursor movement again. Continue bumping the speed down one notch and testing until you find the speed you are comfortable with.
