MACBOOK JUNKIE’S ONE FINGER DRAGGING SETTING: ON
Enabling the Trackpad One Finger Dragging setting configures the trackpad to accept a simple double-tap and drag with one finger. In order to use the Trackpad One Finger Dragging feature, you must first enable One Finger Tap to Click.
When one finger dragging is turned off, you have to physically press down on the trackpad with one finger to drag. When you stop pressing down on the trackpad, dragging stops.
If you don’t like either of these options, a third option for dragging is Three Fingers Dragging which allows you to use three fingers to drag without having to tap or press down on the trackpad.
I prefer one finger dragging to be enabled simply because it makes dragging a whole lot easier and less stressful on my hand than when it is disabled and I have to press down on the trackpad. I selected one finger dragging over Three Fingers Dragging so that I can use my three fingers option for Three Fingers Swipe.
You can see Appleās video example of One Finger Dragging by hovering over the One Finger Dragging option in your Trackpad Preferences Pane.
TO ENABLE ONE FINGER DRAGGING:
1. Open the Trackpad Preferences pane.
2. Click the One Finger Dragging box so the checkmark appears.

TO DISABLE ONE FINGER DRAGGING:
1. Open the Trackpad Preferences pane.
2. Click the One Finger Dragging box so the checkmark is removed.

Now that you have established your One Finger Dragging setting, you can decide if you want to turn on One Finger Drag Lock or adjust any of these other trackpad settings:
- Tracking Speed
- Double-Click Speed
- Scrolling Speed
- One Finger Tap to Click
- One Finger Secondary Click

- Two Fingers Rotate
- Two Fingers Pinch Open & Close
- Two Fingers Screen Zoom
